Bhageecha

This project involved the complete renovation of a rundown site, transforming it into an elegant and eye-catching culinary attraction in southern Hertfordshire. The initial design of this restaurant was inspired by its future purpose, a luxurious high-end Indian restaurant, and its surroundings, situated overlooking the picturesque Aldenham Reservoir. Our head designer married these two essential elements of the building to imagine up the concept of an Indian palace on the lake.

Working closely with contractors, the MKDL team were able to fully redefine the space, creating a spacious open-plan bar and restaurant area, as well as with an intimate and tasteful side room for venue hire with elegant coffered ceilings. Our Creative Director Maha personally curated a range of feature pieces, including imported Parisian wallpaper and stunning marble countertop for a complete immersion into regal luxury. Maha also took inspiration from the wonders of the Indian landscape, incorporating botanical prints and shapes, as well as paying homage to the majestic Indian elephant.
